Defining beauty
Whenever we see anything wonderful their beauty is subjectively felt. Yet; the concept of beauty and ugliness is evasive and difficult to place in to phrases and define. Possibly that is because of specific variations within our appreciation of it. Elegance is in a person’s eye of the beholder. What anyone sees beautiful; yet another only sentimental. One; appealing; another repulsive.

Splendor has been said to be something related to appreciating equilibrium; balance; rhythm. It catches our attention; gratifying and raising the mind.

It is not the items represented by artwork that becomes whether something is lovely or ugly. Alternatively it’s how the object is dealt with which makes it probably inspirational.

Religious philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg shows that what arouses our emotion that the individual experience is wonderful isn’t the facial skin itself; however the devotion shining from it. It’s the spiritual within the normal that stirs our affections; not the organic on their own.

If there are however any artists making wonderful things of artwork; I think; like a bit of good media in the newspapers; they are not having the headlines.

Awakening to the religious

Effect on people of national modify
I am wondering if by dropping splendor we’re also dropping anything else. Anything I’d describe as a greater understanding of what’s great and innocent in life.

Scruton shows that residing without that greater understanding is like residing in a spiritual desert. He argues that the musicians of days gone by were conscious that living was full of turmoil and suffering. But they’d a remedy for that and the solution was beauty. He reckons that the lovely thing of beauty brings consolation in sorrow and affirmation in joy. It reveals human living to be worth-while.

Beauty – A note of transcendent fact
Beauty is in a person’s eye of the beholder. But is splendor merely a subjective thing? Is there also an aim reality to it?

Perhaps we have to re-visit the wisdom of the ancients. Based on Plato; beauty; like justice; and goodness; is an eternally existing entity. He said it perpetually exists; regardless of adjusting social conceptions and circumstances. This may mean that beauty has existed even when there is no body around to discover it.

It takes millions of years for gentle to travel the vast distance to reach our telescopes. Therefore we now see the sweetness of the stars as these were before people existed.

I would claim beauty is anything; that at its center; has the truth of innocence – the innocence of utter Enjoy Itself.
