It’s not the objects represented by artwork that becomes whether anything is lovely or ugly. Instead it is how the thing is managed that means it is probably inspirational.

Religious philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg implies that what arouses our feeling that the individual face is lovely isn’t the facial skin itself; but the passion shining from it. It’s the religious within the organic that stirs our affections; maybe not the organic on their own.

Awakening to the religious
